How The Alignment Archive collects, uses, and protects data across the site, forms, analytics, and gated access.
Last updated: August 31, 2025
This Privacy Policy explains how The Alignment Archive (“we,” “us,” “our”) handles personal information when you visit https://thealignmentarchive.com/ (the “Site”) or interact with our content and forms.
Plain note
We don’t sell personal data. We collect only what we need to operate the Site, respond to messages, and improve reliability.
Information We Collect
Information you provide
If you choose to contact us, you may provide your name, email, and message content.
Information collected automatically
- Basic device and usage data, such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps, for security and reliability.
- Essential cookies required by WordPress and your login/session, if applicable. We do not use ad-tech tracking.
- Access-control cookie for gated content: when you unlock paid or restricted content, we set a small cookie to remember that your device has access. It stores an opaque token or hashed license key, not personal data.
Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics to understand overall traffic in a privacy-friendly way. Plausible does not use cookies and does not collect personal data. It measures aggregated metrics such as pageviews, referrers, approximate location by region or country, device type, and pages visited.
- We do not build user profiles or track you across sites.
- We do not send personally identifiable information or custom properties to Plausible.
- Because Plausible is cookieless and we avoid non-essential cookies, we do not display a cookie banner. If that changes, we will update this policy and request consent where required.
Access Control Cookies
Some areas of the Site are gated. When you enter a valid license key or otherwise unlock access, we set a small access cookie so the content stays available on your device without asking you to re-enter codes on every visit.
- What it stores: a simple, opaque token or hashed license key tied to the specific content you unlocked. It does not store your name, email, or payment details.
- Purpose: strictly necessary to provide the service you requested: persistent access to unlocked content.
- Duration: typically up to 30 days, or until you clear cookies. If you clear cookies or switch devices/browsers, you may be prompted to re-enter your license key.
- No tracking: this cookie is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
You can remove access at any time by clearing cookies in your browser settings. This will simply require re-verification next time.
Cookies & Banner
We do not use analytics or advertising cookies. WordPress may set essential cookies for logged-in administrators only, not for regular visitors. Embedded third-party content, such as videos, fonts, or social embeds, may set their own cookies subject to their policies. We use privacy-enhanced modes where possible.
Given our cookieless analytics and reliance on essential/access cookies only, a cookie consent banner is not shown. If our use of cookies changes, we will request consent where required.
How We Use Information
- To operate, secure, and maintain the Site.
- To review and respond to messages you send us.
- To analyze aggregate traffic and improve reliability.
- To provide and maintain gated access you have unlocked, including honoring valid license keys.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce policies.
Legal Bases
Where applicable, including in the EEA/UK, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Consent, such as when you submit a message.
- Legitimate interests, such as site security, cookieless analytics, and reliable delivery.
- Contract, such as fulfilling access to paid or licensed content you unlock with a valid key.
- Legal obligation, such as compliance and record-keeping.
Sharing
We share personal data only with service providers who help us run the Site or process your messages, authorities if required by law, or parties involved in a business transition, if any. We do not sell your personal data.
For gated access, we may verify a license key or purchase status with our payment or fulfillment provider at the time of unlock. We do not receive your full payment details from that provider.
Retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above, such as responding to your message, and to meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. Server logs are retained for a limited time for security and diagnostics. Plausible stores only aggregated, non-identifiable statistics.
Access cookies for gated content persist for their stated duration, typically up to 30 days, or until you clear cookies. Clearing cookies removes the access token from your device.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please transmit only what you intend to share.
Your Rights & Choices
- Access, correction, deletion: you may request a copy, correction, or deletion of personal data you provided.
- Opt-out of non-essential emails: if we ever send non-essential messages, you can opt out at any time.
- Cookies: you can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect site function, including access to unlocked content.
If you are in the EEA/UK/Switzerland, you may also have the right to object to or restrict processing and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
International Transfers
If you access the Site from outside the country where our servers or providers are located, your data may be transferred across borders. We implement appropriate safeguards where required.
Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13, or under 16 where applicable. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect operational or legal changes. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, if changes are material, provide additional notice where appropriate.
